Grantham University Online

Samantha Said:

I am trying to find a school online, and I dont know which school I should choose, which school is the best?

We Answered:

All of the schools you mention are for-profit schools. Their primary purpose is to make money, not necessarily to provide you a good education. You may get a perfectly valid education from those schools, but it will be expensive.

Your best choice for an online education is to attend an online program at a community college or state university. These will be much cheaper and there won't be any need to defend your degree. I somewhat agree with the other poster that says you should be prepared to defend your online degree if you attend one of those schools. However, why put yourself in that situation in the first place?

A simple comparison of costs. University of Phoenix is $430 per semester credit hour including books. The fact that books are included is a nice touch. However, Fort Hays State University is $137 per semester credit hour. Even including books at $200 per course brings the total cost per 3-credit course to $611. University of Phoenix will cost $1290. Which would you rather pay?

If you are just starting your college education or have less than 60 semester credit hours, try your local community college first. They may have an online AA degree program. If they don't, try other community colleges in your state.

Once you have an AA degree, you can enroll in an online bachelor's degree completion program at one of the state universities. Many state universities now have online degrees. The following are some websites to get you started.

When you choose a school, make sure it is at least regionally accredited. You can check accreditation at http://ope.ed.gov/accreditation/search.a… You can learn more about accreditation at http://www.ed.gov/admins/finaid/accred/i…

Finally, there are a couple of forums online with members who have obtained their degrees online. Some have gone pretty far with their online degrees. The forums are free to join but you can read the forum without joining. You just won't be able to post. http://forums.degreeinfo.com and http://www.instantcertonline.com/forums

Good luck

ok need major help with the ged and air force?

We Answered:

You can usually take at least 5 online courses from your local junior college.

Most university and junior colleges have a wide variety of online classes. In addition your junior college will be cheaper, online colleges cost a lot of money.

I know a good world wide accredited college is rio salado college in Arizona. They offer distance learning, and all credits transfer to Arizona colleges.

174 dollars per credit hour.

Classes start on every Monday and are 14 weeks long. Other colleges I'm sure you'd have to wait til the summer semester.

air force with g.e.d?

We Answered:

Most recruiters will see GED an not even pay you a second thought, unless they're hurting to meet their recruiting goals (almost all AF recruiters meet their goals for the year by July or August). If you decide to try for the 15 credit thing, don't use University of Phoenix. Some say it's nationally accredited but many employers don't recognize it. In fact the company I work for now that I got out of the Air Force will actually hold it against you if you have U. of P. on your resume.
