Not all boarding schools are for troubled teens. In fact there are a wide variety of boarding schools to choose from (particularly in CA).

Boarding school so she can be with all her friends? THat is not right, she needs to learn that her friends are not the only thing in this world. You can't spoil her like that. I say boot camp so she can learn respect and responsiblity. Or you need to start being a parent and start taking control and not let a 13 year old call the shots and everything. Make her go do some community service with you, m/b bonding helps. But seriously? you sound like a push over parent and the girl is a spoil brat. Not trying to offend you but that is the truth.

YES, but chose wisely. There is a troubled teen work program where the teens build homes for the local Habitat for Humanity. The teens will acquire a new appreciation and sense of gratitude while participating and observing how difficult life can be for people in other parts of the world. Amazing results can be achieved when combining the self-reliant work ethic of the program while interacting with those who are less fortunate in the host country. Isolation/ a prison is not the solution to a teens problematic ways.
