Online High School Diploma Courses

William Said:

Can I go to college with an online high school diploma?

We Answered:

Colleges are the ones who are backing online high schools. About 50% of the online high schools out there were created by colleges. You can read more on http://www.OnlineHighSchool.org
This page specifically addresses whether colleges accept online diplomas:

Nicholas Said:

What is a good online accredited high school diploma course?

We Answered:

It depends on couple of things like the accreditation, quality of education, courses of study, transfer policies etc. So the schools which have regional accreditation are best according to me rather than having no accreditation at all. Like http://www.foresttrailacademy.com/diplom… is an accredited online high school which is accredited by Florida Department of Education, National Association of Private & Home Schools (N.A.P.H.S.), National Association for the Legal Support of Alternative Schools (N.A.L.S.A.S.) and many more.

if I have a high school diploma and want to take online courses, what level can I start at?

We Answered:

hey, this isnt a stupid question. its a good one.

okay ive got good reasons for this but im on my FOURTH college. working towards a double major in computer programming and database management.

i took classes online at Strayer university for a year. www.strayer.edu they offer an associates degree program in CIS but its not worth much. I wouldnt recommend going to this school.

im about to start attending classes at Devry online. i would recommend you do the same. if you work at it youll be able to earn your Bachelors in about 3 years. and if you are in the CIS program there you can get a double major by taking only about 1 additional semester worth of classes. classes start in September and October.

i just want to let you know you are making a great choice by choosing classes online. At a university you waste so much time.

check out Devry, theyve got a lot of options and they are known nation wide.

good luck :)

is there a way to take courses and earn credits online or get a high school diploma?

We Answered:

What was the reason you dropped out? What country are you in? Here in Canada, we have the Independent Learning Center, or http://www.ilc.org/ It costs 40 bucks per course.

- You can only request one course at a time.
- You have 10 months to finish one course. Although, you should be able to complete 1 credit in 2-4 months, maybe even faster (depends... if you can focus for the entire day, then you'll probably finish a course in like a month or even less.)
- There are no quizzes, only a final exam in which you have to go to their office to write the test.

BTW... it's going to be a **** trying to stay focused, I'm doing an English credit and I always find myself doing other stuff.

What classes do I have to take to get a high school diploma online?

We Answered:

I think you will find that any online school that is worthy of your cash, will be considerably more difficult than public school. There is no class to move on whether you get the material or not, you must get it to move on. You have to complete every lesson.

I recommend the U of Nebraska Correspondence High School. It's been around for a very long time, has excellent curriculum and you are assigned an instructor. They will examine your transcript and recommend classes for you to meet their requirements for a high school diploma. It is a private school.

Private and religious online schools are not regulated. Some are excellent (like the U of Nebraska), others are some old textbooks, a post office box and someone's garage. Be careful to find a reputable school that issues a real diploma and careful of schools that claim their diploma is accredited. Sometimes it's just another website set up by the "school".

I believe Connections also has classes through high school and may be free to you if you live in a state that permits them to operate, but I have no personal experience with them. Because Connections is a public school, it has to meet the same requirements as any other public school in your state.

And I also suggest you get out and about and join some sort of social activity outside of school. Consider voluteering somewhere, community drama or maybe a sport. Just something outside of school. I think you will find it completely different than school socialization.
